COP28: Tim Wainwright

"What we're trying to do is focus on creating the conditions for investments so that water can be provided sustainably and affordably to everybody in a way that enables them to be resilient to climate change."

Tim Wainwright, Chief Executive of Water Aid, understands the urgency of finding action-oriented solutions to the impact of climate change on water. His involvement in the Sustainable Markets Initiative's Water Task Force has made him see the importance of cross-sector collaboration in making sure everyone has access to clean water even as the climate changes. Water resilience around the world is not a question of making technological breakthroughs. We have the technology - but we need the financial framework to build the infrastucture to make use of it. A collaboration of global businesses and policymakers that places value on this essential commodity could rapidly bring water solutions to the poorest parts of the world.
