Eco Wave Power

Generating power from incoming waves without damaging marine ecosystems

Global energy consumption is set to increase by 50% by 2050, but it’s estimated that up to 20% of this demand could be met with a renewable source still in its infancy: wave power.

Based on the Mediterranean coast in Tel Aviv, Eco Wave Power has developed a low-cost, scalable, and circular system to generate energy from ocean and sea waves. Their game-changing technology is attached to existing coastal structures, without damaging the fragile seabed.

CEO Inna Braverman was a baby when the Chernobyl nuclear reactor exploded. She suffered negative health effects as a result of the explosion, which later inspired her to find safer sources of clean energy.

Though still in its initial phases of commercialisation, the potential of wave power is vast. The World Energy Council estimates that wave energy could produce twice as much electricity as the world currently produces. With unused breakwaters all over the world, this simple solution could become a significant part of the future renewable energy mix.
