The Power of Nature

Harnessing sun, wind, water and earth to decarbonise the energy sector

With increasing populations and improved standards of living worldwide, our energy requirements are rising just as we are realising the environmental cost of our reliance on fossil fuels. Fortunately nature provides more than enough raw energy to provide power for us all - from sunlight and wind, oceans and rivers, as well as the earth beneath our feet. The challenge we face is how to harness that raw power and make sure everyone has access to it.

Contributors from some of the world's most innovative energy companies share their vision of a renewable future; increasing the amount of sunlight a solar panel can convert to energy, harnessing the power of water without damaging sea-beds or rivers, or building wind-farms that work in harmony with endangered ecosystems like mangroves, as well as looking ahead to the next wave of technological developments that will increase the efficiency and lower the cost of clean energy.
