Sustainable Agriculture | Mars Food trains 20,000+ mint farmers on sustainable agricultural practices

Mint is a speciality crop grown in the United States, Canada, and India, providing livelihoods to more than 1 million farmers. However, it has sustainability issues. To address these issues in each region, Mars works with farmers and experts through the Mars global initiative, AdvanceMint (known as Shubh Mint in India), to better understand different agricultural footprints and social, economic, and environmental challenges.

The targets are to advance mint plant science by collaborating with research partners, reduce water consumption by 30 percent in water-stressed areas by promoting Good Agricultural Practices, and, finally, Improve smallholder farmer incomes by partnering with industry experts and suppliers.
